Candy Kane Nails

Hello there!
I know that it's STILL November but since we're only 2 days apart from the official Christmas season it's only fair to start preparing with some themed manicure! As I was browsing through Pinterest I found these amazing Candy Kane Nails and thought about recreating it.
Here are a few steps you need to follow..
I just have to warn you that I always mess up my nails before finishing so don't you worry, it's not the final result!

Draw a white line at the bottom of your nails just like the french manicure

Add a little twist to create the shape of the candy kane

Then add the red stripes to complete your design

And you're done! I hope you enjoy this nail art desing!

Choco Factory Museum

Hello there!
On Sunday I visited a themed park in Athens, called "Choco Factory Museum". It's an amazing opportunity for little kids to learn the process of making chocolate, from cocoa beans to candy bars and cookies, but also grab a bite (or two).
Even if I believe that this place is mostly suitable for families and kids I wanted to visit it for so long, as a true chocoholic! You have the chance to taste different kinds of chocolate such as chocolate ice-cream, chocolate candies, hot chocolate and much more!
I loved the bitter chocolate ice-cream with chilli, even if I'm not a big fan of either bitter chocolate..or chilli to be honest. But, I found it pretty smart to combine something cold with something hot...so, yeah...I liked it a lot! :P
Also, apart from tasting and learning about chocolate, kids can make their own cookies, color pages and make experiments with the help of scientists and cooks!
Hope you enjoy some pics I took!

Funfetti Chocolate Truffles

Hello there!
A few days ago I went to a friend's birthday party, where she served us Funfetti Chocolate Truffles and I was obsessed with them ever since! They are super easy to make, delicious and I think it's a pretty great idea if you have friends coming over or a party.

So, this is what you will need:
250 gr butter in room temperature
250 gr powdered sugar
500 gr crushed almond or walnuts
225 gr biscuits
1 tablespoon cocoa powder (without extra sugar)

You crumble the biscuits, mix all the ingredients together and form the mixture into little balls.

Then you put the sprinkles into a plate..

...and decorate your truffles with them until you are satisfied with how sprinkle-y your truffles are.

Put them in the fridge for at least 3 hours or overnight if you can.

When in doubt wear red..shoes!

Hello there!
It's been around two years now that I have an obsession for red shoes! I think that some of you might call it post-Dorothy (as Wizard of Oz Dorothy Gale) syndrome. After I've seen these amazing red sparkly shoes I knew that we were meant to be.
Now, two years later I still haven't found the perfect red shoes for me. However, I've decided to offer a tribute to my favorite shoes by writing about some styling tips.

First of all, I would like to admit that buying and wearing red shoes is a huge commitment, as it's a bit tricky to style and a bit trickier to wear them in a daily basis. But if you are obsessed with them as much as I am, I think that you will stand up to the challenge!

So, the easiest way to put on your red shoes (and start the blues as my dear David Bowie would say) is with a white shirt/t-shirt and jeans. Ideal if you want a glam twist in your everyday look.

Total red! And if I may ask: Why not? Especially this year that a lot of designers chose total red outfits for this season's collections.

Also, you can pair up your red shoes with other red accessories, clothes or small details of your outfit. For example, with a red bag (also a personal favorite) but also with plaid, which will make your outfit more balanced.

You can wear them with a total black outfit. For a more dramatic night out look you can wear it with a laced black dress or with leather pants. As for a professional-edgy everyday outfit you can combine your red shoes with a black jumpsuit.

If you want to add a little edge at your elegant and mother-approved nude, gray or white outfit you can try combining it with your red shoes. This red touch is not only a pop of color in your outfit but also an unexpected detail which will capture everyone's attention.

Last but not least is the classic combination of red an
animal print. For example, you can wear your red shoes with leopard print skirt, shoes or bag to blend the edgy with the classy.

However, let's face it..we will never be as stylish as this little one :P

Autumnal Sugar Cookies

Hello there!
A few days ago I baked sugar cookies, since I had a lot of cookie cutters, I've been searching for an excuse to use! I found this recipe for Rolled Sugar Cookies and decided to give it a try.
For my cookies I used a squirrel, a hedgehog, a ghost and a gingerbread man cookie cutter. I also wanted to use a pumpkin and a bat, but I couldn't find them.
The recipe is for 60 cookies and each one has around 100 calories.

1 1/2 cups softened butter
2 cups white sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (I used almond oil to give it an autumnal scent)
5 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt

In a bowl you mix the butter and the sugar until smooth. In another bowl you beat the eggs and the vanilla. Then, you mix together the mixture of the two bowls and add the flour, the baking powder and the salt. Put it in your fridge for an hour (or overnight).
Preheat your oven in 200 degrees C. Roll the dough on floured surface 0,6 to 1,2 cm thick and cut shapes using your cookie cutters. Place your cookies on ungreased cookie sheets and bake for 6-8 minutes. If you want to decorate them you should wait until they are completely cool.
I made them plain because they are quite sweet just like that, but if you want you can add sprinkles, glaze, chocolate or jam!

Have fun making these Autumnal Sugar Cookies!

sorry about that but he looked so delicious! :P
